Compton Profile studies group
is another active group in the department involved in
experimental and theoretical studies in band structure in
metals and alloys. In the past few years, this group has
successfully built first high intensity Cs Compton
Spectrometer and also Am-241 Spectrometer. They have also
developed first ever methodology for bremsstrahlung
background correction to extract a true Compton profile from
the high energy Compton Measurements.
