Dr. Vineet Soni (FBS, FMA, FAPS, FLS, FICPC) is the Head of Department of Botany, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, India. He is the son of noted botanist Prof. P.L. Swarnkar and the founder of the "Save Guggul Movement". Dr. Soni completed Ph.D. from Birla Institute of Scientific Research and University of Rajasthan, Jaipur in 2005. Thereafter in 2006, Dr. Soni received prestigious Nature Publishing Group Award to visit at Boston, USA. He carried our Post Doctoral Research at University of Geneva, Switzerland during 2007. He also served as visiting researcher at European Molecular Biology Laboratory (Heidelberg, Germany), Plant Bioenergetic Laboratory (Geneva, Switzerland) and Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (Paris, France). He was profiled as one of 20 global "Earth Movers" by IUCN. He has also   been honored with Scientist of the Year Award, Outstanding Scientist Award, Nature Publishing Group Award, Bio-Rad Award, Excellence in Teaching Award etc.

Dr. Soni has scientific collaborations with many esteemed laboratories located at New Delhi (India), Berlin (Germany), Geneva (Switzerland) and Warsaw (Poland). Research group of Dr. Soni has published many high impact research papers in prestigious journals like Scientific Reports, Urban Ecology, Functional Plant Biology, Physiologia Plantarum, Frontiers in Plant Science, Conservation Evidence, South African Journal of Botany, Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, Heliyon etc.
