National Conference on Contemporary Issues on Accounting, Auditing & Taxation-2021

HeldUnder the auspices of the Department of Accounting and Business Statistics of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, a webinar "_Contemporary Issues related to Accounting, Taxation, Auditing_" was organized which was presided over by Professor PK Singh, Dean of the College of Commerce. In his address, he talked about the rigorous accounting in the field of Banking and Insurance. Emphasized the need for standards. The chief guest was CA S Mehta, President and Director of JK Paper Limited. Webinar Director and Head of the Department, Prof. Shoorveer Singh Bhanawat gave the welcome address. Prof. Bhanawat said that the companies have done well in the times of Covid. Earned profits but companies are using the profits to buy back shares and distribute dividends but investment is not increasing, which is a matter of deep concern. The chief guest of the inaugural session was CA A.S., President of JK Paper. Mehta said that in order to be free from accounting embezzlement and bankruptcy, he suggested to prepare a strong format. On this occasion, the keynote speaker of the inaugural session was Prof. D.V. from Xavier Institute of Management Studies, Bhubaneswar. Ramana explained about the new AS-114, Regulatory Assets, that these assets should also be accounted for at market value in the books. Prof. Ramana told that the corporate sector should prepare two books of accounts, one on market value and the other on book value.
