University level offline workshop on ‘Mapping and Analysis using QGIS, 1-4.02.2023

No. of Participants = 25 A four-day workshop on Mapping and Analysis using QGIS was conducted on 1 to 4 February, 2023 under the aegis of Geospatial Skill Development Centre and Entrepreneurship Cell (GSDEC) established under RUSA Career Hub project at the department. The workshop was organized for research scholars of all departments of Faculty of Earth Science, Mohanlal Sukhadia University Udaipur. The inaugural session was chaired by Prof. Kanika Sharma, Consultant and Advisor, RUSA, Nodal Officer MLSU. The Chief guest and Keynote Speaker of the inaugural session was Prof. Shamita Kumar, Vice Principal, Institute of Environment Education and Research, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune. The four-day schedule of the workshop was targeted to make participants learn various concepts of basic of GIS data models, map composition, data editing & querying and Multi criteria Decisions Analysis (MCDA) in the free and open source software QGIS. The resource persons of the workshops were a blend of both external and internal faculty members including Dr. Shailesh Chaure, Associate Professor, Department of Geology, Govt. Holkar Science College, Indore and Prof. Seema Jalan, Dr. Devendra Singh Chouhan, Dr. Urmi Sharma and Dr. Rajesh Kumar Yadav. A total of 25 research scholars participated in the workshop.
